3 Things You Can Do With Your Loved Ones Cremains

Your loved one may have told you that they want to be cremated after they have died. However, they may not have specified what they want done with their cremains. That part is up to you. There are many things that you can do with your loved one's cremains. So, what are some of your options?

Jewelry

One thing that you can do is to have some of the ashes turned into jewelry. There are different ways that you can do this. One option is finding a company that will take some of the ashes and compress them so that they can be turned into diamonds or other precious stones. Then the stones can be set into rings, bracelets, or some other piece.

There should be enough ashes that more than one stone can be made, depending on the size you want. That will allow you to share stones with other family members. There are also lockets and similar pieces of jewelry that are designed to hold the cremains of your loved one so that you can always have them with you.

Fireworks

You might not realize it, but there are also companies that will work your loved one's cremains into fireworks. If your loved one was into fireworks, loved color, or was just a lot of fun, this can be a really great option. If your loved one told you that they wanted you to have a celebration of their life instead of a memorial service, then you can arrange to have the fireworks set off at the celebration.

Shot Into Space

If your loved one loved space, science fiction, or other similar things, you can have them shot off into space. It may not be all of their cremains, but at least some of their cremains can be put into a container and shot off into space.

The company who you have contracted with for this service may have to store the container until it's time for the shot to happen. There are a few reasons for it. One of them is that rockets being shot off into space don't happen every day, so the company has to wait until some agency has a rocket scheduled and then arrange some space on the rocket. Another is that they have to make sure that they have enough containers to make the shot profitable.

If you have lost a loved one, it can be a hard thing. If they want to be cremated, you may be able to choose what to do with their cremains. To discuss your options, speak with a cremation service such as Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel.
